The Lodge Report: News From The Slopes
Avalanche Dog Has No Idea He's Full-Time Resort Employee
Avalanche dog, a two-year old husky mix named Captain, is still completely unaware he is a full-time ski resort employee. Captain remains clueless that all the rides he takes up the chairlift are, in fact, his job. He continued to fetch a toboggan, oblivious to his missing benefits like insurance, PTO, and parental leave.
“He skips his vacation every year,” said ski patrol manager Dennis as he looked into hiring more dogs, “and he never clocks out. He’s the most dedicated and, overall, the best employee we have on patrol.”
Captain spent his unpaid hour-long break chasing his tail before he was mushed up the mountain sans hazard pay.
Snow Cat Operator Grooming Trail Like It's Pair Of Pants
A snow cat operator was seen grooming Upper Eagle Foot like it was a pair of pants, attempting to flatten out ski tracks like they were wrinkles in a pair of khakis.
“It’s frustrating work, I’ve gone over this area 20-25 times with the snow cat, and you can still see some lines,” said the snow cat operator as he made sure to crease the edges of the trail.
“You want to really iron out the bottom of the trail too to get a nice, pressed cuff,” he continued as a group of snowboarders ripped through Upper Eagle Foot destroying his pristine work in .21 seconds.

Ski Boot Company Releases New Boot That Looks Like A Giant LEGO

A ski demo company on the mountain today is excited to release its new boot that looks exactly like a giant LEGO boot.
“I mean, ski boots always looked, and felt like walking around in a pair of plastic LEGOS, so I guess this just makes sense,” said a skier as he demo’d the boot. “Plus, I just pop right into my bindings, like I’m attaching myself to a LEGO brick, so it just makes sense,” he continued as he warmed up to the new design.
“We thought that’s what skiers were going for,” said the boot company representative, “news to us that…it isn’t?”
Snowmaker Accidentally Makes Giant Snow Cone
In a winter miracle, snowmaker, Ron Don, accidentally made a giant snow cone on the trail Pinball. “I kept the snow gun running for the night, and next thing I know, there it was,” said Ron Don as he added blue slush dye to the cone.
“I used to work at a slush shop…I probably would’ve got a promotion if I was still there,” continued an excited Ron Don as the mountain manager had a literal meltdown saying it “probably cost tens of thousands of dollars” to create the cone.
